Preparing for Worship: March 11, 2018
Text: 2 Corinthians 13:1-10
Title: Nine Marks of Church Discipline Done Right
As Paul reaches the end of 2 Corinthians, he sounds a warning. He will make his way to Corinth for the third time. If the sin issues that have been addressed are still present, then he “will not spare them” (vs 2).
What does he have in mind? What is Paul talking about?
This Lord’s Day we will consider the matter of church discipline. What does the Bible say about this mark of a true church, and how is church discipline to be practiced? In our text for Sunday we will see apostolic discipline on display through Paul’s instruction, and we will consider nine marks of church discipline done right.
Songs we will sing this week include the following, provided in a playlist here:
- Psalm 46
- Raised to Life
- How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
- In the Name of God
- On Jordan’s Stormy Banks
- Thou Lovely Source of True Delight
- Abide with Me
