Preparing for Worship: October 14, 2018
This Lord’s Day we will take a break from the book of Titus to consider our Lord’s message to the church at Ephesus (Revelation 2:1-7). As you remember, the church at Ephesus had many things that Jesus commended in them. But the one glaring problem was that they had moved away from their first love. In the morning service we will examine ourselves by the commendations they received from Christ, by His correction of them, and by His charge to them. In the evening service we will continue our study of the book of Mark (12:13-17). Spies from the Pharisees and Herodians came to Jesus looking to entrap Him by His words. We examine the first of their “test” questions, and we will worship our Savior as we see the power of His purity and wisdom.
Songs we will sing this week include the following, provided in a playlist here:
- A Mighty Fortress is Our God
- How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
- Only a Holy God
- Come Thou Almighty King
- Romans 11 (Doxology)
